N-Box is a mobile video screening project affiliated to N-Minutes Video Art Festival, and the purpose of which is to enhance the spreading of contemporary art so that video art can be promoted to a wider range of audience with a deeper impression.

Video Rooms existed in cities & towns all over China during the very beginning of the Reform & Opening in the 1980s as a medium of pop culture, just as the cinemas nowadays. At that time when TV was just introduced and Internet was still a dream to be reached, video rooms might take up the roles of spreading the concept of "image" via such an entertaining method. However, "enlightenment" is still too much for this era.

Due to the material wealth we have nowadays, Internet devices and digital products turn to be common stuff. Thus it makes video creation more popular than it was, but the public still hold a limited perspective upon video art. As the updated substitute of video room, N-Box will screen selected videos from the excellent works of N-Minutes Video Art Festival made by domestic and international artists, the categories of which range from classic, young artists, animation, experimental, video, overseas art festivals unit, etc. The screening shall take place in those premises which are approachable to the public, and we wish those who are curious about video art or willing to explore the unknown stuff may take this chance to challenge your opinions and enrich your visual experience with our program.
