Among his last numerous productions on these disciplines, it should be noted the Kinetic Pictures for the video art masterpiece  Dye a V(east) (2006-07) and Domesticated Domestic Demons (2011-12), a 7-channel video-installation recently exhibit at the DAFT Festival in Taipei, Taiwan (2012); the sound sculpture cd work Instorments; or his book "The encapsulated image: Video Art as a spiral," (2009), an essay on the contemporaneity of this artistic discipline.

His video-art works, for which he also composed the soundtracks, as well as his live perfomances, involves a multimedia stage set which, in addition to different image treatments, makes the most of interactive and sensorial immersion technology.

He showed his video-art pieces and played at many venues and events such as Ars Electrónica, Art Futura, ISEA, SONAR, Video Festival Videoformes, Festival of New Musics of Madrid and Sevilla; the experimental cycle LEM in Barcelona; the Knitting Factory in New York; the Pop Komm Festival or the Festival Experimenta in Madrid.

On May 2013 the 2nd Izmir Art Biennial in Turkey invited him as an official artist, where the jury awarded him with the prize for the best Video Art installation.

On the other side of his creative facet,  we can point out his task as producer and director from 2008 of the weekly television program Transfera, specialized in the broadcast of audiovisual art, as well as the directiom, curatorship and programming of MADATAC, the INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF CONTEMPORARY AUDIO-VISUAL & NEW MEDIA ART, and independent project initiated on 2009.

During 2013 he was invited as a jury member of Videoformes Fest (France) and MAshRome Film Fest (Italy), and EXIS Experimental Festival (Seoul, South Korea).

MADATAC is an independent and non-profit springboard, with an cultural diversity approach for cutting edge experimental and new media audio-visual culture, that particularly values innovation, originality and risk-taking art projects.

 

This unique and leading international event take 's place in Madrid (Spain) each December within the city Mile of Art, with daily screenings of video art; competitive sections; exhibitions of interactive video installations; open discussions with artists; seminars, lectures and round-table debates related to art, beauty and technology; audio-visual performances; workshops; think-thank forums; video art auctions and multiple awards.

 

MADATAC aims to take the pulse on what is new in the international ever-changing environment and on each edition put forward an attention-grabbing and inspirational theme. This special selection for N-Minutes Video Art Festival presents a caustic, peculiar, critical and enticing tribute to “flesh-video” projects produced by Spanish audio visual artists, where oneiric and verity visions, oriented by animated grids, plateaus or intangible signs, collide with intense organic textures and are expanded towards heterogeneous ways of watching unveiled body landscapes and forgotten emotions.

作为一位跨界艺术家,尤里.勒赫在过去的三十年间积极投身于音乐、影像艺术和文学创作领域,同时还是西班牙电子影像艺术领域中少数在音乐表演中启用视觉效果的先锋人物。他那开放而不拘一格的风格中透出先锋派的影子,随着紧密的视听冲击而来的是流动的催眠氛围和对经验主义的另类思索。他最新的此类作品包括:V印染(2006-07, Kinetic Pictures)、降妖伏魔(2011-12, 7通道录像装置,12年在台北展出于“数字艺术、电影及电视艺术节”)、乐器(有声雕塑作品),以及他的著作《密封的影像:螺旋状的视觉艺术》(发表于2009,关于他所处的艺术流派的当代性)。

那些由他自制音轨的影像作品,和他的现场演出一样,囊括了有针对性的多媒体舞台设置,从而最大程度的借助于交互式感知科技。他曾于诸多场合和活动中展示他的影像作品和现场演出,包括奥地利电子艺术节、西班牙未来艺术节、国际电子艺术研讨会、SONAR、Videoformes影像艺术节、马德里和塞维利亚新音乐节、巴塞罗那实验艺术节、纽约“纺织工厂”、马德里POPKOMM实验艺术节等等。在2013的土耳其伊兹梅尔双年展上,他受邀作为官方艺术家出席,并荣获“最佳影像艺术装置”大奖。除了一贯的创作天赋外,近期他在制作人和导演领域的雄心也正逐渐显露。2008年他参与制作了一档命为《转移》的电子艺术推广栏目;此后又参与了马德里国际当代视听及新媒体艺术节的策展与执行工作,并与09年开启了其他一些独立项目。

2013年他受邀作为法国Videoformes影像艺术节、罗马Mash电影节和韩国EXIS Exprimental 艺术节评委。

Iury Lech is a trans-disciplinary creator that has developed his creativity working the last 30 years within the realm of music, video-art and literature, being part of the few pioneers in the Spanish electronic audio-visual scene that began to use visuals on their sound performances. His open and unclassifiable style permeates the tired avant-garde concept by means of a dense audiovisual texture that brings lively hypnotic atmospheres and an alternative way to conceive experimentalism.

MADATAC新媒体艺术节诞生于马德里,是独立的非盈利项目,是最前沿的视频艺术作品与新媒体影像创作人的展示平台。MADATAC每年12月在西班牙马德里举行,包括放映活动、竞赛单元、互动影像装置展、艺术家交流、美学和新媒体技术等话题的论坛、视听演出、工作坊、讲座、影像艺术拍卖和颁奖典礼。

此次为N分钟影像艺术节特别选送的影像作品集,将包含苛刻、奇特、批判和诱导的特质,作为“flesh video”项目的西班牙影像艺术家为艺术节所作的礼物而呈现。动态网格、高原和无形的标志物,与文理紧密的有机材质相碰撞,呈现亦梦亦幻的视觉体验,并拓展成为观众观察裸露的躯体、感受被忘却情怀的多元路径。

The beginning is another American film noir from the early 60s: disemboweled, tortured and "detourned" images organize themselves into precarious and evolving structures, intertwined in multiple, twisted plots in a state of permanent collapse. The aim is to incite the explosion of a closed system through a battery of audiovisual implosions. Forget what you see while you are actually watching it, and soak in a vibrating, optical ancestry.  The work is about the interval simultaneously separating and uniting, the silence between words, the black between pictures. It’s a film against the dialectical opposites in cinema, assembled according to Heisenberg's uncertainty principle and the use of the phenomenon of retinal persistence as an expressive tool.

Cut pairs two videos side-by-side: a series of sounds of found muscle growth animations with a video of an infinitely spinning diamond.

This film is built up from that single, imperceptible instant that signals the shift from day to night, a fleeting moment in which what was is no more, where things might acquire fresh significance.

APHASIA VOLUTIA 失语的 VOLUTIA, 2012, 01’ 59”

As the bio-tech era dawns, this short experimental work explores our bared physical scaffolding. Tiny, nanoscopic, biotechnological machines, pulsing with energy, boring holes; tendrils creeping along, quietly going about their unknown business within a vast bodyscape of porous bone and watery ligament. Aphasia Volutia slips along the edge between organism and technology, where nanoforms quietly manipulate the electrical and biochemical impulses through which we sense (and make sense of) the worlds within and around us.

This work is part of BOM ('Spring' in Korean). It follows KYOUL (Winter), the first part of a 1 year live-cinema project made in Korea. It was shot on an island, near the Korean demilitarized zone that separtes north from south.

AGNÈS QUILLET (法国)

CHANT SILENCIEUX 赞颂寂静, 2011, 5’38”

Pictures flash past, get superimposed. A body, a woman, she’s trying to come off, to tear herself away from the fiction she’s a prisionner. Then appears an artificial space-time, inhabited by a simulacrum. A presence reveals itself on the threshold of the image.In Chant Silencieux what is given to see is the image itself, and not what it represents.

Mesmerizing video-poem on transforming landscapes: series of metaphors of isolation, deconstruction and the limits of the inhabitable territory create a unique view of the contemporary environmental condition.
